Legacy Pools makes the process of building the backyard of your dreams a breeze.

At Legacy Pools, we follow a standard process for all of our custom pool and backyard projects. This process is explained below and will help you understand project expectations and timelines.

Our Building Process

  • 1. Initial On-Site Consultation

The first step in the process is an on-site consultation at your home. We will talk in detail with you regarding your unique project, and also measurements of the backyard and assess the terrain.

  • 2. Design Meeting

After the initial consultation, we will meet with you to discuss the design and aesthetics of your pool. This design can be as detailed as you want! Since we build custom fiberglass pools on-site, the pool can be any size, depth, or shape. You can include elements like lap lanes, diving boards, slides, tanning ledges, falls walls, and more! Once renderings are complete, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and make changes until you are happy with the end result.

  • 3. Estimating & Contracts

After the design renderings are complete and both parties are ready to move forward, we will begin working on cost estimates. The estimates will be prepared and shared with you once they are complete. If any changes need to be made based on the estimates, our designer will revise the renderings. Once estimates are approved, a contract will be provided for both parties to sign.

  • 4. Order Materials & File Permits

The next step in the process is ordering the necessary materials for your pool and backyard project. Our team will also file permits with the city to ensure the project is approved for construction.

  • 5. Construction Begins

Once materials are in and permits are obtained, excavation can begin. This process is very similar to building a home. We will pour the foundation for the pools and walls, and the fiberglass insert will be built on-site and installed. Once complete, we will move on to the plumbing and backfilling.

  • 6. Landscaping Features Added

Once the pool construction is complete, we’ll move on to adding any addition landscaping features, like retaining walls, decking, autocovers, pavers, and patios. When all the features are added, we will fill the pool and start running all the equipment.

  • 7. Finishing Touches

We’re almost at the finish line! During this phase, we’ll install outdoor kitchens or fireplaces, as well as any plants, flowers and trees.

  • 8. Final Walk Through

After the finishing touches on your pool and backyard are complete, we’ll wrap up with a final walkthrough to thoroughly inspect your backyard. This will include verifying pool pump wiring, grounding of equipment and structures, and a certified pool safety check.

“Our backyard is truly everything we dreamed it would be. Thank you, Legacy Pools!”
